PTO membership

Parents:  It's a GREAT idea to join our PTO!  This is an awesome way to be "in the know" for upcoming events.  Just grab a membership form in the school's office, submit it with your $5 membership fee, and start enjoying the benefits of becoming a member!!

We'll give you a Stockwell yard sign, and you'll begin receiving our new monthly newsletter "school scoop."   The newsletter provides you upcoming events, teacher birthdays, etc.  It's delivered at the beginning of each month.

Back to School Info

We will have volunteer forms, order forms for Spirit Wear and other PTO information available in the foyer of the school at Open House on Tues., August 10th.  This year, we are requiring PREordering the $15 spirit shirts. (We have learned that blanket ordering causes your PTO to have lots of leftovers which takes money from other functions.) We will have a picture available at the ordering table.

In the commons area at Open House there will be several businesses offering bows, belts, and other neat Stockwell colored items.  Please come check them out!

School Supply packages that were preordered will be delivered to your child's classroom.  We only have a FEW extra for each grade.  Please check the table in the front of the school at Open House if you'd like to try to purchase one.  This year, we're planning to offer a cart with basic supplies for purchase.  We're hoping this will help parents when their children run out of items mid year.

Snack Days will alternate.  One Friday, we'll have all healthy items such as water and juices, crackers, nuts and granola bars. On the other Friday, we'll have traditional candies.  We're always looking for parent volunteers.  We're hoping to run snack days out of the PTO room this year instead of outside in the heat.

Parent Teacher Organization

WELCOME to our PTO page!!

Stockwell Place Elementary is fortunate to have a very active PTO!!  We have many wonderful parent and grandparent volunteers who are friendly and lots of fun to work with. We're ALWAYS looking for new members to join in the fun. Our goal is to support the staff and the school in any way possible.

This year, we have many fun and exciting events planned for you and your children!  On Friday, August 20th, from 11-12 we're planning our annual PTO Social in the Library to give parents information about upcoming events.  We're planning to have Pumpkin Light Night on Tues., Oct. 26th.  We're also planning to have Santa Store the week of Dec. 6-10 with a preview scheduled for Fri., Dec. 2nd.  We'll be hosting snack days twice monthly and this year we're planning to have a School Supply cart offering replacement items for your children at reasonable prices.

Our school's office has info on volunteer opportunities.  Please stop by and sign up to help or email me at adenwilliams@yahoo.com.  No amount of time you give is too little.  Every minute counts!!  **Signing up to help for an event helps the chairperson have a list of parents to call IF they need help. We try to email, then call you with our needs as we begin planning each event.

We're looking forward to working with you!!

A little about your PTO...

Many of your PTO parents have multiple children at Stockwell Place Elementary.  Several of us work outside of our homes, while others stay busy volunteering on a full-time basis.  We love supporting our teachers and staff in any way possible.  Several of us are room mothers, school tutors and substitute teachers.  The students have come to know some of us well, as we're in the halls daily.  We would love to have you become a part of our group.  We are easy to get to know and we welcome ALL new faces.  If you have questions about how you can "plug in" to give you and your child the total Stockwell experience, please call me, Aden Williams at 742-2225.

Being a member of Stockwell's PTO is such a rewarding experience! Alot of our members have been serving for years because they not only see the need for a strong PTO, but also because they and their children enjoy the extra time together.  You'll get a completely different view of your child's school life while bonding not only with your child, but also their friends and Stockwell's staff.  What a great legacy to leave your child!

Copy Brigade

WE NEED YOU!!  Each year our teachers make TONS of copies for their classrooms.  We're in need of 2 parents per grade to make copies for them.  The teachers would put their copy information in their mailbox in our copyroom and you'd go at your leisure to make the copies.  If you're interested in being a part of this MUCH NEEDED service, please contact me, Aden at adenwilliams@yahoo.com

Fundraiser

This year we're using American Concepts to help us with our fundraiser.  The kickoff date is Tues., August 24th. This company offers a really neat magazine featuring items from gift wraps to kitchen items.  We're really excited about this year's fundraiser because the money it raises pays for the year's events, such as our yearly technology donation of $10,000, AR items (50 & 100 pt t shirts and prizes), teacher luncheons (gifts & birthday parties), annual staff Christmas gifts, honor roll items (certificates and prizes), and more!

Your children will be able to earn a spot at the Mega Bash party which will include a DJ, jumpy items, prizes and more!!  Check back for more details.

Boxtops for Education

Our school participates in the Boxtops for Education program.  This is an easy way for you and your family, near or far, to help give money back to Stockwell.  Just look for the red "ticket" on your grocery items, clip, and turn them in to your child's teacher on the 4th Friday of each month.

Collection dates: to be announced

Track your class progress on the chart in the school's foyer!  The winning class gets prizes.

Stockwell Yard Sign $10 or FREE with $5 PTO membership.

PTO Membership Yard Sign -free with $5 membership.

Snack Days

Our goal is to have 2 Fridays per month in which we will sell healthy snacks and sweet snacks.  The money earned from snack dates helps to purchase items required to put on a fun graduation for this year's 5th graders.

We will need parent volunteers to help sell snacks and drinks from 11:45am until 1pm.  Please check back for dates.

Volunteers

Volunteers:  As each event is planned, we take our volunteer lists and try to contact as many of you who signed up to help as possible via email.   This saves time and allows us to keep up with who we have and haven't reached.

If you have signed up to help with a past event and did not get an email, please re PRINT your email address for us and turn it into the office.  We've probably misunderstood what you've written.

Thanks SO much for taking the time to sign up to help!!  Without you, we couldn't support our students and staff like we do:)

Lost & Found

Our Lost and Found, located in the school's commons area, is outgrowing itself!  Please stop by occasionally  to see if your child has accidentally "lost" an item waiting to be "found". Please remember to WRITE YOUR CHILD'S NAME on their sweatshirts, jackets & lunchboxes.

THANKS

We would like to say THANKS to ALL of the people who help us with our events.  We know we wouldn't have successful events without you.  We have "regulars" who offer their time donating time, grills, tables, decorations, and more.  We'd like to say THANK YOU and we love you!!!
