We'll give you an awesome window cling for your car and you'll begin receiving our new monthly newsletter "school scoop."   The newsletter provides you upcoming events, teacher birthdays, etc.  It's delivered at the beginning of each month.

Parent Teacher Organization

WELCOME to our PTO page!!

Stockwell Place Elementary is fortunate to have a very active PTO!!  We have many wonderful parent and grandparent volunteers who are friendly and lots of fun to work with. We're ALWAYS looking for new members to join in the fun. Our goal is to support the staff and the school in any way possible.

This year, we have many fun and exciting events planned for you and your children!  Today, February 8th, we kicked off our Book Fair Diner: ALL you can READ!!  We hope you're able to come to the school's library sometime during this week and check out all the great books and other neat items we're offering from Scholastic.  On Tuesday, February 9th, we hosted our Burger Burn, Basket Raffle and night time Book Fair.  A HUGE thanks to Sonic for the donated burger toppings, Holsum for the donated buns, and Frito Lay for the donated chips:) We'd like to thank Airline High School's Beta Club for sending us lots of great students to serve and lots of yummy homemade desserts!  If you received a call that you won a basket during the raffle/silent auction, please drop by the office to pay and pick up your basket by the end of school this Thursday, February 11th.

Our school's office has info on Volunteer opportunities.  Please stop by and sign up to help.  No amount of time you give is too little.  Every minute counts!!  **Signing up to help for an event helps the chairperson have a list of parents to call IF they need help. We try to email, then call, you with our needs as we begin planning each event.

We're looking forward to working with you!!

Healthy Snack Day

Our 5th Grade Legacy members are hosting a healthy snack day on the 2nd Friday of every month.  The next event will be during recess this Friday, the 12th of February. Members of the 5th Grade Legacy raise money throughout the year in order to supply our 5th Graders with Field Day shirts, a graduation party, a graduation gift, and also a gift to the school from the 5th grade class.

Spring Fling

       Attention Parents:

Saturday, April 10th, is the date we've chosen for Spring Fling (formerly called Round Up).  In order for this event to happen, we'll need MUCH parental involvement.  For those of you who have been to Round Up in the past, we're planning to make a few changes:)  This is a fun filled family event which you will NOT want to miss!!  With classroom/parental participation, we'll have many new games for your children to play, face painting, jumpies, food and more.

If you're interested in helping, please call Trish at 560-9039 for all the details.

A little about your PTO...

Many of your PTO parents have multiple children at Stockwell Place Elementary.  Several of us work outside of our homes, while others stay busy volunteering on a full-time basis.  We love supporting our teachers and staff in any way possible.  Several of us are room mothers, school tutors and substitute teachers.  The students have come to know some of us well, as we're in the halls daily.  We would love to have you become a part of our group.  We are easy to get to know and we welcome ALL new faces.  If you have questions about how you can "plug in" to give you and your child the total Stockwell experience, please call me, Aden Williams at 742-2225.

Next Year's PTO

As the school year begins to wind down, our PTO is faced with the task of slating next year's officers.  We have several members who will continue to serve our school, but several who will move on to the junior high with their children.  We're asking you to consider offering your time and skills to chair a position be it large or small.  If you're curious about what you can do to help, please call me, Aden @ 318-537-0894, or ANY member of our PTO and ask us anything you want to know about the position we serve.  (our school office has a list of phone numbers)

Being a member of Stockwell's PTO is such a rewarding experience! Alot of our members have been serving for years because they not only see the need for a strong PTO, but also because they and their children enjoy the extra time together.  You'll get a completely different view of your child's school life while bonding not only with your child, but also their friends and Stockwell's staff.  What a great legacy to leave your child!

School Store

School Store began on September 11th.  Jodie, the chairperson, needs parent volunteers to help sell snacks and drinks from 11:45am until 1pm.  Please check back for new dates.

Volunteers

Volunteers:  As each event is planned, we take our volunteer lists and try to contact as many of you who signed up to help as possible via email.   This saves time and allows us to keep up with who we have and haven't reached.

If you have signed up to help with a past event and did not get an email, please re PRINT your email address for us and turn it into the office.  We've probably misunderstood what you've written.

Thanks SO much for taking the time to sign up to help!!  Without you, we couldn't support our students and staff like we do:)

Lost & Found

Our Lost and Found, located in the school's commons area, is outgrowing itself!  Please stop by to see if your child has accidentally "lost" an item waiting to be "found".
